Two Ways To Participate!

Live- Sunday, October 25 4PM

Video Replay-Thursday, October 29 7:30 PM

The Center has begun work on a new film that re-looks at moonshiners and the blockading industry in a totally new light – from the diversity of the players, the creative ways mountaineers found to survive, and some of the heroic characters involved.  Help us make this new film by joining us for a moonshine tasting party featuring locally handcrafted moonshine from Howling Moon Moonshine and South Mountain Distillery produced by a fifth generation moonshiners, great live bluegrass music performed by the Apple Country String Band and the screening of THEY WHO OVERCAME, Stories of Hope and Resilience, the Center’s new short film on the resilient life of our elders.  The event will be held at the Flat Rock Cinema.  Cody Bradford of Howling Moon Distillery will be there to tell some of the history.   Tasty treats will be available.  A donation of $25 or more gets you into the fun! Donors of $50 or more will receive a moonshine memento, donors of $200 or more will receive a tour of a moonshine distillery!  Tickets are extremely limited given the need for social distancing, SIGN UP TODAY!   Social distancing will be enforced and the area will be clean and protected for all participants.

If you’d rather not attend a live event just yet, no problem!  You can still support the new film and enjoy the party and be there “in spirit.”  Just let us know when you sign up which option you choose.
