Many of her friends’ parents had moved to Carolina Village. Virginia mentions the Statons, Raymond, and Gus Staton, and the business they had on 4th Ave in Hendersonville. Raymond was involved in Sky Village and Echo Acres. Gus was involved in insurance. Virginia was friendly with Raymond’s daughter.

When the Statons moved in they moved into a room that was similar to a double room with a curtain dividing the beds. Virginia visited often. She talks about other people she has known. Virginia mentions GE and that fact that they employed people from this area. Virginia took care of kids for executives who had moved into the area. Virginia has met many people who have felt like family and now many of the local people live at Carolina Village

About a year after she moved in she had surgery and since then she has had 8 additional surgical procedures. She has been in the care unit and the medical center. The care has been very good. She has had physical therapy and that was very good also. The care has been really good.

Virginia really likes all the programs available to Carolina Village. There are many organizations she belongs to, the Lions Club and a sorority club. She plays cards once in a while. She attends plays and a variety of activities.

Living at Carolina Village means residents can go to the Medical Center, the Care Center, and physical therapy without having to leave or worry about payment. She feels that Carolina Village is growing and progressing. It is not like a nursing home it is your home, and when you do need care it is available.

She likes people, being with people, and doing things with people. The waitresses are very friendly, and the rest of the staff are very helpful. She mentions again that the Village is progressing and that if someone has an issue they can voice them and see what happens
