Partial Transcript: The tourist art market—let me think about how to say this. In Santa Fe—and I would imagine many other tourism destinations—the art market caters to the romantic preconceptions of tourists, and those stereotypes become internalized by the local population in many cases. An extremely important antidote to this are contemporary artists who challenge tourist stereotypes and who bring images of contemporary living cultures into the visual repertory.
