ABOUT
Truth is stranger (and more interesting) than fiction. Mountaineers were masters of making something out of nothing, whether it crops from bare soil or liquor from corn and fruit. These are the fascinating, funny, and heart-rendering stories of the moonshiners, who evaded the law (sometimes) and found creative ways to survive, put food on the table, and produce a product that we still enjoy today. Cheers.
Major film support was provided by Blue Ridge National Heritage Area Partnership, Community Foundation of Henderson County, North Carolina Humanities, Paul and Simone Shoemaker, and Chuck McGrady.
