Truth is stranger (and more interesting) than fiction. Mountaineers were masters of making something out of nothing, whether it be crops from bare soil or liquor from corn and fruit. These are the fascinating, funny and heart-rendering stories of the moonshiners, who evaded the law (sometimes) and found creative ways to survive, put food on the table, and produce a product that we still enjoy today. Cheers.
